Oral-B Genius X - Review
I received the Oral-B Genius X in Midnight Black as part of the SuperSavvy Circle panel and have been trialing it for the last two weeks. I was recommenced to use an electric toothbrush by my dentist a few years ago and have been using a Superdrug Pro one since then, to me it was working great however I had a few issues with plaque and the lack of whitening that I wanted.
I was impressed with the Oral-B Genius X straight away. The packaging was sleek, the accessories were brilliant. Inside the box you got;
For me, the travel case was a great extra. I don't take my electric tooth brush away with me normally purely for this reason and that I find it bulky to take. I am not sure I would take it for a short trip but defiantly for a week or two away. The toothbrush charges inside the case for easy storage and the case can take up to two heads.
I also got a little fed up of having to get my phone and I was not overly comfortable having the phone in the bathroom either. On a few occasions I used the brush without recording my progress but it seems the app had logged it as a session but it is unable to give feedback. I also had an occasion in the evenings where my phone was very low on battery therefore I was unable to use the app.

I began using the Oral-B Genius X straight away as it came pre-charged, I downloaded the Oral-B app and set myself up. You are able to choose the colour of the light around the top of the brush, I would presume each user can use different colours but Mr FF isn't a fan of electric toothbrushes so that wasn't something I looked into.
I actually found the app the most frustrating part of the whole process. When you begin your brushing log you are presented with a mouth image like this one, the toothbrush is then able to tell where you are brushing and will make the image turn from blue to white until it says you have done enough. This part was fantastic and it took me about 2:15 to do all my teeth. However, on a few occasions while the screen said I had done 2:15 I then got an error message to say that as I had not brushed for a minimum of 30 seconds it was unable to record it. This happened a few times and I just had to give up for that session.
However, I defiantly feel that my oral hygiene has improved and I can see a visual difference in my teeth. I will continue to use the toothbrush and will try my best to get better accompanied with the app. For me this products rates a 4/5.
I received this item free in return for my honest review. This item does not appear to have been released in the UK yet, but a similar model is available from Amazon.co.uk

Birthday Freebies
I am a June baby and a typical Gemini (ask Mr FF!). But I love my birthday, it's halfway through the year and the weather is usually okay. Plus birthday freebies are a must!
There are so many you can get, here are just some that I picked up.
Boden - £10 voucher with no minium spend.
Boden send me a £10 voucher in the post each year and I picked up this gorgeous scarf for free, it was supposed to be £20 but was reduced to £10 and I did a click and collect for free too. The scarf is massive and is so soft! I got this be being on their mailing list.
WhiteStuff - £10 voucher with a £10.01+ spend.
With the WhiteStuff newsletter you get a a £10 voucher to spend, you have to spend over £10.00 to get the offer. I bought this candle and paid £2.50 for it. Again I did click and collect for free.
JD Williams and SimplyBe - Free Hotel Chocolate Birthday box worth £8.
The rewards and treats program at both are great, SimplyBe have recently changed their policy so you have to spend a certain amount to get the offers but the birthday offers seem to still apply even if you haven't bought anything. They will send you an email and all you need to do is log in and show the code in a Hotel Chocolate store. I went into to two different ones to collect each.

Hotel Chocolate - £5 voucher with the VIP Club.
You can pick up a VIP club card in any store, they will send to a £5 voucher to spend. I picked up a bottle of port (for my dad) and a lolly. These came to £6 so I paid £1 for them.
BodyShop - £5 voucher with their loyalty card.
Again another loyalty club to join, and you get £5 to spend. I picked up this gorgeous limited edition shower gel and paid nothing for it.
Hobbs - £20 voucher.
This is a great one to sign up to, just sign up to their newsletter and they will send you £20 to spend, your basket has to be over £20 so I opted for these socks. The trio was originally £20 reduced to £14 and the single pair were £6 reduced to £5, so I paid a grand total of £1. I again clicked and collected to store for free.
Paperchase - £5 voucher with their loyalty card.
Another card to pick up in store, they didn't email me this year but I asked when in store and the voucher was sitting on my card. I got this cute frog luggage tag for £1.50 (originally £6.50). I find their choice a little limited as it is quite expensive in there.
Hobbycraft - £5 voucher with their loyalty card.
Yet another card! With this one they also email a £5 voucher to you, I picked up some vinyl that was reduced from £8 to £5 so was free.
SpaceNK - Free birthday month goody bag.
This is a great one if you have a store near you, each month is a different bag to collect dependent on your birthday month and you get any email from their club to collect it. You can add it to you basket online but I think the delivery is quite high. Junes bag was full of three items; Dr Jackson's Everyday Oil (10ml) RRP £14, Briogeo Farewell Frizz (51ml) RRP £18.50 for 147ml so this worked out at about £6.42 for the sample I got and Becca Shimmering liquid highlighter (6ml) RRP £30 for 50ml so this worked out at £3.60 for the sample. These products are high end and the three items worked out at about £24 retail.

Shopmium - Free box of chocolates (cashback).
On the Shopmium app (this is a must app to have - download here [Shopmium] and get a free jar of Nutella!) you get a free box of Lindor chocolates which are worth about £4-4.50. They will pop up on your app near your birthday to claim, you need to buy them first and get the cashback within days.
Micheal Kors - £50 voucher (no longer being offered).
I signed up to their mailing list back in January, for your birthday they send a £50 voucher. Unfortunately, this went viral and people signed up using fake birthdays so they set a cut off point which I think was anyone who signed up before March. It's such a shame as it's a great offer. There was nothing I wanted so I ordered this t-shirt for Mr FF, worth £55 and I paid £5.
There are a few others, Boots give you double points for the month of your birthday and Superdrug give you quadruple points for the week before and after your birthday. Accessorize also give you a 20% off code with their treats card.
Debenhams Beauty club also offers either a free 15 minute file & paint from blow LTD or an oxygen blast from Arden. I didn't use this offer this year as they are only available at certain stores. Last year I got a free Benefit Brow Wax but this has been discontinued.
There are also lots of food freebies to claim, there were a few I was offered but unfortunately my jeans were saying no!

Free spins, casino offers & bingo
DISCLAIMER - All the below are using gambling sites, some you may have to put your own money in for a return other you do not. Please do not continue to read this post or go forward with any offers if you think you may have an issue. Please see for more information and support. Frugal Fae does not take responsibility for any loss you may experience, all offers are taken at your own risk.
There is a lot of talk about matched betting and low risk casino offers in the debt free community as a way to make extra cash. Now I will be honest, match betting scares me. I dabbled a while ago but I decided it was not for me, I'm not a risk taker and I worry a lot so I took myself away. But what I do like is low risk/free casino offers. Any income made through gambling does not have to be declared to the tax man either, it is your winnings. Usually you can pair these us with cashback offers and some let you play for free everyday for more winnings. I play four sites daily are Heart Bingo, Virgin Games, Mecca and Buzz Bingo (with all the below sites you will need to deposit £10 to play, I did them one by one and didn't lose a penny and I used the winnings to deposit the next £10);
Heart Bingo - This offer is deposit £10, get £50 of free bingo and 30 free spins. Now on this one you have to put your own money in, but I found I came out with my money back and a bit more, but it also opens you up to play their daily FREE games. Log on each day and choose 6 tiles on one game, every day that you do this you have the chance to win £750 for that week (more likely 5/10 spins of £5 but it was free to play) and you will also be able to play the extra game at the end of the month. The more days you play during that month, the more you get on the extra game which can win you free spins and cash - 28 days equals 28 clicks.
Virgin Games - This is play £10 and get 30 free spins. However, the same applies as above. You can play their daily free games, at the moment it lets you play two games a day! From playing Heart Bingo and Virgin Games I make about £10 a month (ish). The also randomly ask you to agree to marketing for £2, this get credited to your account and then you can change you preferences back.
Jackpot Joy - Again very similar to above, play £10 and get £50 on free bingo and 30 free spins. However, to play the daily free games you have to play £2 each week. I did the free games while I was playing out my £10, however have not played again and I do not wish to deposit any more cash.
Mecca Bingo - This offer is spend £10, get £30 to play online, £10 in club and 20 free spins. The £30 does require 2 x wagering (Wagering basically means the amount you will need to bet in order to release your bonus winnings into your Main Cash Balance), so you need to play £60 to cash out real money. I tend to play the free spins and see how I get on. I would rather forfeit my bonus than lose the winnings. But from this you can play the Mecca daily spinner and also play BOB - more on that when its live. On the spinner you can win free spins, cash and bingo tickets. From this I have won about £20-30 over the last few months. I waited until BOB was on to play, so I was always quids in. This comes up every few months and I will do a post when it does come on next.
EDIT - as of today they have changed their daily spinner rules. You now have to spend £5 in the last 7 days. Worth it when you first sign up but not after that.
Buzz Bingo - This one is spend £10 and get £30 in bonuses, now this one I found harder than the rest, but I am still in a (small) profit. I now play the daily spin game to win bingo credit, free bingo tickets and free spins. Yesterday I won free spins and won over £7 from them which I was able to cash-out the same day.
I will do a blog post on a few other sites which are more of a one time pony soon. Hope that's of some help :)

A bit about me.
Hello :)
I'm Fae, I am nearly 29 (Ekkk!) and I live in West Sussex. I have the Instagram @FrugalFae which started on my freebie and money making journey nearly 18 months ago now.
It all began because I wanted to refill a beauty advent calendar for my mum, you know the ones will all the boxes from a well known high street store. But when looking at miniatures they were all so expensive and with 25 boxes to fill this was going to get pricey.
I began looking for samples and freebies both online and in stores and from there I go a bit of a thrill from all the goodies I could get. I filled my mum's advent up within about 6 months, I was taking it slowly. I then started applying for freebies I could give away, either as gifts or to people in need and I regularly give a bag to local homeless charities with things like gloves, razors, toiletries and sanitary products. I also collect pet food and treats.
I live with my Fiancé in our new home, which we bought about 2 years ago and have completely renovated. It still had to original 1960's council installed yellow kitchen! We moved in just over a year ago, and my freebie hunting took off. Finding things for our new home and ways to make extra income as our budget had pretty much been completely depleted.
I love Instagram and the debt free/side hustle and freebie community is wonderful, it is full of lovely, friendly people who will always help! However, I decide to start blogging for those topics which need a bit more context. So this blog is aimed to focus on money making, side hustles and freebies.
So I hope you enjoy it :)
