Oral-B Genius X - Review
I received the Oral-B Genius X in Midnight Black as part of the SuperSavvy Circle panel and have been trialing it for the last two weeks. I was recommenced to use an electric toothbrush by my dentist a few years ago and have been using a Superdrug Pro one since then, to me it was working great however I had a few issues with plaque and the lack of whitening that I wanted.
I was impressed with the Oral-B Genius X straight away. The packaging was sleek, the accessories were brilliant. Inside the box you got;
For me, the travel case was a great extra. I don't take my electric tooth brush away with me normally purely for this reason and that I find it bulky to take. I am not sure I would take it for a short trip but defiantly for a week or two away. The toothbrush charges inside the case for easy storage and the case can take up to two heads.
I also got a little fed up of having to get my phone and I was not overly comfortable having the phone in the bathroom either. On a few occasions I used the brush without recording my progress but it seems the app had logged it as a session but it is unable to give feedback. I also had an occasion in the evenings where my phone was very low on battery therefore I was unable to use the app.

I began using the Oral-B Genius X straight away as it came pre-charged, I downloaded the Oral-B app and set myself up. You are able to choose the colour of the light around the top of the brush, I would presume each user can use different colours but Mr FF isn't a fan of electric toothbrushes so that wasn't something I looked into.
I actually found the app the most frustrating part of the whole process. When you begin your brushing log you are presented with a mouth image like this one, the toothbrush is then able to tell where you are brushing and will make the image turn from blue to white until it says you have done enough. This part was fantastic and it took me about 2:15 to do all my teeth. However, on a few occasions while the screen said I had done 2:15 I then got an error message to say that as I had not brushed for a minimum of 30 seconds it was unable to record it. This happened a few times and I just had to give up for that session.

However, I defiantly feel that my oral hygiene has improved and I can see a visual difference in my teeth. I will continue to use the toothbrush and will try my best to get better accompanied with the app. For me this products rates a 4/5.
I received this item free in return for my honest review. This item does not appear to have been released in the UK yet, but a similar model is available from Amazon.co.uk
